Agrippina and Catone in Utica nominated for the „Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik”
The list of nominated recordings for the „Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik” (German Record Critics’ Awards) has been published today and it includes the last to releases of Il pomo d’oro. The highly acclaimed album ‘Agrippina’ (DHM) with the Swedish mezzo soprano Ann Hallenberg, directed by Il pomo d’oro music directr Riccardo Minasi is nominated for the best vocal recital category. Leonardo Vici’s rediscovered opera ‘Catone in Utica’ (Decca) is nominated for best opera recording (category I: works up to the second half of the 18th century). This album,also directed by Riccardo Minasi, has an all-star cast: the countertenors Franco Fagioli, Max Emanuel Cencic, Valer Sabadus and Vince Yi alongside tenors Juan Sancho in the title-role and Martin Mitterrutzner. The results of these prestigious awards will be announed on August 14th.
