Anna Melkonyan

Violin

Born in Yeveran, Armenia, Anna Melkonyan started playing the violin at the age of eight. She began her studies at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yeveran and finished her Bachelor degree with honors at the Musikhochschule Lübeck,Germany. She studied in soloist class of Sebastian Harmann in Lucerne, Switzerland, where she graduated in 2012 with a Masters Degree.Anna was granted scholarships from the DAAD, the Alfred-Toepfer-Stiftung,Germany and the Hirschmann Stiftung, Switzerland. She is a member of Balthasar- Neumann Ensemble under Thomas Hengelbrock and plays as a guest with ensembles performing on both modern and period instruments, such as Ensemble Resonanz (Hamburg), Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss, Elbipolis Baroque Orchestea (Hamburg) moderntimes 1800 (Innsbruck ) or Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. As a chamber musician she has performed at Rheingau Musik Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (Germany), Festival de Musique La Chaise Dieu ( France), Feldkirch Festival, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik (Austria) and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK) among others. Since autumn 2012 Anna teaches violin in Switzerland at the Hochschule Luzern Musik."
