Nicola Dal Maso

Double bass and Violone

Nicola Dal Maso is a double bass and violone player specialized since he was very young in early music. He plays as principal bass with Le Concert D'Astrée in France, il Pomo d'Oro and Accademia Bizantina in Italy and with Balthasar Neumann Ensemble in Germany. During his career he played under the direction of Reinhard Goebel, Ton Koopman, Jordi Savall, Ottavio Dantone, Emmanuelle Haim, Stefano Montanari, Sigiswald and Barthold Kuijken, Anner Bylsma, Tomas Hengelbrock and Claudio Abbado. From 1993 to 2001 he has been teacher of double bass in the Swiss Italian Conservatory in Lugano.In the last years he is more and more exploring romantic music on periods instruments.
