‘Serse’ by Handel: New Album and Tour
The first major highlight of the 2018-19 season is ‘Serse’, one of Georg F. Handel’s most compelling dramatic creations. Maxim Emelyanychev conducts il pomo d’oro and a star-studded cast led by superstar counter-tenor Franco Fagioli across Europe in October and November 2018. The 3-CD album of the entire opera, conducted by Maxim Emelyanychev, has been released on Deutsche Grammophon on the 2nd of November 2018, and it is the second collaboration of the orchestra with the historical yellow label.

Handel’s ‘Serse’ is the second collaboration of Il pomo d’oro and Deutsche Grammophon, and it was recorded in Lonigo in early 2018. The ensemble and Franco Fagioli, Francesca Aspromonte, Inga Kalna, Vivica Genaux, Marianna Pizzolato, Biagio Pizzuti and Andreas Wolf are led by Maxim Emelyanychev.
