Third recording project with countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński
Anima Aeterna is the third collaboration of il Pomo d’Oro with Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński. The program of sacred arias and motets from the 18th century features several world premiere recordings.
Following the path of previous albums, Anima Aeterna has also unearthed many treasures of rather unknown baroque composers such as: Bartolomeo Nucci, Gennaro Manna, a member of an important Neapolitan family of musicians, or the Bohemian-German Jan Dismas Zelenka, a contemporary of Bach in Lepizig.
The program of Anima Aeterna is conducted Francesco Corti, principal guess conductor of il Pomo d’Oro. Egyptian soprano Fatma Said stands by Orliński in Zelenka’s Laetatus sum.
